Who We Are
Wheeler ISD is located in Wheeler County, established in 1876 as the first organized county in the Texas Panhandle.
Wheeler, TX became the official county seat of Wheeler County in 1906. Wheeler ISD is the home of the Mustangs and Lady Mustangs, and has a proud tradition of school spirit, excellence, and commUNITY. Students in grades PK-12 are known, supported, and encouraged to participate in numerous academic and extracurricular programs. All PK-12 students are served under one roof, helping to ensure the safety and security of our students and staff, along with creating a collaborative atmosphere and inclusive culture throughout the district. Wheeler ISD is rooted in tradition, and driven by possibility. Our small class sizes and collaborative environment helps our teachers to know students personally and build relationships that matter.
